Like a rem­i­nis­cence, return­ing to my neigh­bor­hood with its dirty streets, stray dogs, and peo­ple con­tent with the lit­tle they have in their homes, eager to share their hap­pi­ness with you. She is my grand­moth­er; she is my neigh­bor­hood. As a child, I walked hand in hand with her, leav­ing for school in my uni­form and return­ing home to bask in that human warmth that I will always crave, even if my mem­o­ries remain vague and imprecise.
