For the 77th Golden Globe red carpet ensembles, taking a cue from the previous year’s 2019 showing, this year has revealed more of the shapely contoured gowns and sleek ballroom style dresses, whilst offering a larger sampling of the alluring and very sheer coup d’oeil outfits. From thigh-high splits, gauzy mesh dresses and tops to an amble amount of cleavage – the 2020 arrays to which the stars are wearing for the red carpet affair maybe indicative of the 2019 runway shows of last year, which offered a lot of the bare-it-all stylizations. So, without further ado these are my six favorite outfits for this year’s Golden Globe red carpet.
Rachel Bilson’s lace and sheer lingerie style corset tulle top, with its beautiful wraparound embroidery. Set in an all black, sultry affair, she is now officially dating comedian Bill Hadar, so to the credit of Bilson’s stylist, as both her and Hadar looked so well matched on the red carpet together – to which Bilson encapsulated all the relaxed sophistication and contentedness of a woman in love.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s couture inspired ankle length evening gown by Fendi once again shone through with the tulle look, but in lieu of Bilson’s outfit, Paltrow’s earthy colored gown set a precedence in its revealing style, starting at her shoulders to toes. Very little was left to the imagination. Arunway favorite throughout 2019. The visibly intimate apparel, as an outwear look is one of the major trends for 2020, styled and worn divinely by the actress.

The sleek and modernist inspired black and white Proenza Schouler outfit for Greta Gerwig, was the nice balance between some of the more extravagant and eye-catching gowns on display for the evening. Silhouette styled off the shoulder evening dress, worn with grace by the ‘Little Women’ director, who, unfortunately, did not receive a nomination as best director for her film adaption of the historical period drama.

Joey King wearing her black and white, pleated mini-skirt inspired piece from the experimental Belgium designer Iris van Herpen, who is renown for her 3D printed outfits. Combining intricately hand crafted styles to cutting edge technology, King’s outfit for the Golden Globes was first seen at Van Herpen’s 2019 Couture Paris show in July of last year.

For all the fashion on display at this year’s Golden Globe awards, opulence has no boundaries, when Zoey Deutch star from the television production ‘The Politician’, which was nominated for Best Television series and musical, arrived in her Fendi mustard colored jumpsuit with its plunged V neck, puffy sleeves and 1970s decadent trimmings. It was the jewellery on display that caught the eye of the media in attendance; a duplication of ‘The Heart of the Ocean’ (Titanic) inspired necklace, which reportedly holds over 110 carats of diamonds and sapphires, with the larger blue sapphire as its centerpiece. Stunning.

‘Scandal’ star Kerry Washington’s bare-it-all affair, would no doubt be one of the more daring styles for the evening, offering a compete Altuzarra ensemble with a black open blazer, no top and naked expect for the knotted body jewelery underneath, complete with a black thigh-high silk skirt and glittery heels.
