Highlights from Copenhagen Fashion Week SS24

Showcasing a range of established brands as well as new, up-and-coming names, Copenhagen has once again brought the world to its attention through exhibiting the work of its local designers. It’s also taken a strong and much-admired ethical approach, with an enforced sustainability criterion for all those participating. The result has of course led to an abundance of much desired Scandi-style and gorgeously crafted pieces to make for a memorable season.

Here we bring you an overview of OVERDUE’s most notable collections displayed last week on the runways of Copenhagen:

Stine Goya

Titled ‘Homecoming’, Stine Goya revisited the designs of her earlier years, creating a collection that truly highlights the tone of the brand. By combining tailored silhouettes with smaller details such as pearl embellishments and colourful prints, the collection feels playful yet timeless.

Saks Potts

Showcased next to the kindergarten on the streets of Copenhagen where the founders originally met 25 years prior, Saks Potts’ SS24 collection was perhaps one of their most personal yet. With a playful, summery dynamic filled with both 90s and 00s references, the collection felt effortlessly cool and will be added straight to our summer mood boards.

A Roege Hove

Esteemed knitwear brand A Roege Hove showcased a simplistic yet elegant collection, as fluted, sheer and cut-out knitted garments saw their way down the runway. Swooping necklines and bodycon silhouettes result in the clothing appearing like a work of art. A truly unique take on knitwear.

REMAIN

Presented in a reflective room filled with mirrors, REMAIN’s SS24 collection felt dynamic and exciting. With striking, bold shapes, oversized sheer t‑shirts and backward jackets, the collection was not playing by any rules in fashion, but making its own.

Lovechild 1979

Tactile Layering and chunky gold accessories over a neutral colour palette accurately summarise Lovechild 1979’s SS24 collection. Inspired by the still life photography taken by the iconic photographer Irving Penn, creative director Mia Kappelgaard has encapsulated the careful intention of placement and minimalism that Penn does so well.

ROTATE

With Vivienne Westwood and the Parisian Hotel Costes both serving as inspiration, the ROTATE SS24 collection has resulted in a clever combination of punk and ultra-feminine. Pastel lace jumpsuits, balaclavas and nipple tassels are in abundance, and we want them all.

Mark Kenly Domino Tan

Sheer bucket hats, neckerchiefs, pearl earrings and silk veils carefully compliment the minimalist tailoring seen in MKDT Studio’s SS24 collection. When creating this collection, creative director Caroline Engelgaar was most inspired by the sea, making it known through the use of floaty silhouettes and oversized sailor collars.
