A Joint Venture

When the Covid pan­dem­ic first hap­pened, I remem­ber feel­ing quite unset­tled. My hus­band Arthur and I are both free­lancers and rely on projects crop­ping up here and there to earn our income. We have both worked in offices all over Lon­don through­out our careers and only occa­sion­al­ly worked from home. When Lock­down came into full swing, our free­lance jobs began to slow down and we were left to reval­u­ate our sit­u­a­tion…

My back­ground is in PR and Influ­encer Mar­ket­ing, and Arthur’s is in Graph­ic Design and Art Direc­tion and we fre­quent­ly found our­selves cross­ing over in our work.   This sparked sev­er­al con­ver­sa­tions around col­lab­o­rat­ing to launch a joint ven­ture. 

Lock­down real­ly gave us the time and ener­gy to focus on build­ing that busi­ness. We always had a team of cre­atives that we had met along the way in our careers, which we knew we could call on when the time was right.  So, on the third week of Lock­down we gath­ered the team and got to work with the web­site and brand­ing to launch Dreamville Cre­ative, our full-ser­vice agency that offers Brand­ing, Strat­e­gy, PR & Influ­encer Mar­ket­ing, Dig­i­tal & Web­site design, Graph­ic Design, Mar­ket­ing, Social Media and Copy­writ­ing.  

Before we knew it, we had done about 6 months’ work in 6 weeks!  

Plan­ning and launch­ing dur­ing Lock­down seemed to work out as a bril­liant oppor­tu­ni­ty for us: peo­ple had more time to lis­ten, sup­port and point us in the right direc­tion for clients. With that said, clients also had the time to want to know more and take the time to real­ly get to know us. No one was buried in emails, delayed on tubes, exhaust­ed from trav­el­ling, and every­one we spoke to was very friend­ly.

So now here we are a few months into our launch — we are Dreamville Cre­ative — the young, cre­ative stu­dio with a friend­ly, (some­times mag­i­cal) team of spe­cial­ists. We have worked with some of the most pres­ti­gious agen­cies in the indus­try and have come togeth­er to make brands seen and heard.
