Taffe­ta. Tulle. Fun. Three words that I asso­ciate with Mol­ly God­dard. After a dif­fi­cult year, many design­ers pon­dered and per­se­vered through for a new col­lec­tion. For Mol­ly God­dard, there was no com­pro­mise for her designs as we are pre­sent­ed with colour and vibrancy. 

This col­lec­tion was an amal­ga­ma­tion of inspi­ra­tion, a col­lec­tion of ideas and con­tem­pla­tion. Imme­di­ate­ly when faced with the colours of neon pink and green and black, we asso­ciate the attrib­ut­es of this col­lec­tion with Mol­ly God­dard. How­ev­er the inspi­ra­tions are amaz­ing­ly bizarre, a mix­ture the art col­lec­tions of Guiseppe and Gio­van­ni Pan­za — a jux­ta­po­si­tion between the papi­er-mache dress­es of Claus Old­en­burg and sleek sculp­tures by Robert Mor­ris. The cher­ry on top is Mol­ly God­dard­’s first-hand expe­ri­ence to add to the inspi­ra­tion: Fruits Mag­a­zine and the street style of Camden.

I love a bit of extrav­a­gance, hence why I obsess over the taffe­ta (it’ll nev­er die down in my head), how­ev­er, Mol­ly God­dard has cre­at­ed a col­lec­tion that is per­fect to show­case an extro­vert­ed and bring out an intro­vert, and remain casu­al. We all know I’ll be caught out wear­ing Look 30 for next LFW…
