Taffeta. Tulle. Fun. Three words that I associate with Molly Goddard. After a difficult year, many designers pondered and persevered through for a new collection. For Molly Goddard, there was no compromise for her designs as we are presented with colour and vibrancy.
This collection was an amalgamation of inspiration, a collection of ideas and contemplation. Immediately when faced with the colours of neon pink and green and black, we associate the attributes of this collection with Molly Goddard. However the inspirations are amazingly bizarre, a mixture the art collections of Guiseppe and Giovanni Panza — a juxtaposition between the papier-mache dresses of Claus Oldenburg and sleek sculptures by Robert Morris. The cherry on top is Molly Goddard’s first-hand experience to add to the inspiration: Fruits Magazine and the street style of Camden.
I love a bit of extravagance, hence why I obsess over the taffeta (it’ll never die down in my head), however, Molly Goddard has created a collection that is perfect to showcase an extroverted and bring out an introvert, and remain casual. We all know I’ll be caught out wearing Look 30 for next LFW…
